Black Girls Do Politics has committed itself to providing doors of entry for black women and girls into the political process. Black Girls Do Politics' partner and sister organization, BGDP Leadership Development Academy provides mentorships, internships, fellowships, training opportunities, civic camps, educational resources and convenings to build networks and community while providing our black women and girls with the tools necessary to contribute to the political process and affect change.
The ability to engage in the voting process grants citizens access to the democratic process. Black Girls Do Politics is committed to advocating for civic engagement in black communities and providing education and resources on how to vote and the electoral process. We do this through community forums and events, voter registration drives and digital organizing. Not only is voting about selecting a candidate, it is also about participating in key decisions that affect black communities
Black women often find themselves without a "seat at the table" in key spaces. Black Girls Do Politics addresses this by creating a media platform that amplifies the voices of black women, highlighting leaders and changemakers nationwide. Through stories, interviews, and features, we celebrate and showcase the impactful work of black women, bringing visibility, validation, and inspiration to those making a difference in their communities and beyond.
